Diamond Prices in indian market is dependant on three factors, the Rapaport, the Dollar price and the Trade discounts on the diamond. All of these are changing as per the market trends and hence there is always a confusion as to what price the diamond is available to a common buyer.
In the quest to solve this small, every day query, my father in law, Late, Madanlalji Bamalwa made me start publishing diamond rates in indian currency considering the basic parameters affecting the price at large. These prices are updated every week on the website. The column is published every Monday in Sanmarg , the most widely circulated Hindi Daily in Eastern India. In its 75 year old legacy Sanmarg has believed in reader first and reader always. Numbers show that Sanmarg readers have the highest Jewellery buying potential hence my column would help them make informed purchase decisions and also create product awareness about Diamonds. It is also published in another hindi paper Vishwamitra. the column has been publishing and appreciated since almost a decade.

Jewellery has always been a mystical world.
People have been fascinated and confounded by jewellery. There are many myths, lores, and about as many questions as misbeliefs .
Mission of the speaker here is to
- Educate the layman
- To clear confusions they have
- Teach basics to as many people possible
- Create awareness to know common pitfalls
- Teach to Recognise and avoid malpractices.
To instil confidence so millennials can begin investing in diamonds or jewellery. Jewellery is the only investment used as adornment and which has its full possession with the women themselves. it is important that one understands the value of the Assets one possesses or is keen to buy. This task was started by Late Shri Madanlalji Bamalwa who was always keen into making jewellery a transparent business. I am lucky to have been bestowed upon this opportunity to take his legacy forward.
It has been a very enriching experience.

Bespoke jewellery are heirloom pieces which are passed on to generation. The task of putting together a jewellery which has uniqueness which reflects the buyers taste and lineage is challenging and time consuming.
There is customisation and control in the look and design at all stages of jewellery making
- Procuring diamonds( could be done over time)
- Designing ( to your content)
- Making ( flexible, light)
- Fitting of jewellery on the neck( the fall, the length)
There is a tighter control over the budget and transparency because you have the prices at every step. And hence there are no surprises.
Since the year 2000, under the Guidance of Late, Shri Madanlalji Bamalwa, Owner of Nemichand Bamalwa and Sons, Jewellers in kolkata, Sheetal Bamalwa has been bringing smiles to customers because of her passion as a bespoke jeweller, not just in Kolkata but globally.
Kahlil Gibran once said “Perhaps time’s definition of coal is the diamond”,
Diamontaire is a french origin word. “A member of a successful Diamond dealing company or group” is what books say it is.
But because I was taught by the legend himself, Late Shri Madanlalji Bamalwa believed that a Diamantaire is not someone who is just a diamond dealer but who has the entire responbility of every single dealing made with any customer. He started a buy back policy in diamonds back when no one did it.
Diamantaire is not just a diamond dealer but one who has been under the threshold of time and pressure himself and who did not deter to lose its values and integrity under all pressure and odd circumstances. He made all people who got trained under him go through all the rigorous procedure himself. his bar did not go down till the end of his journey on earth.
A successful bespoke jeweller and an established entity, Sheetal Bamalwa has established her entity in the last 20 years under the banner “ Nemichand Bamalwa and Sons”. She is also a successful aspirational speaker. She has been awarded Sanmarg “APARAJITA” award for “Young Acheiver in the field of jewellery” in the year 2018.
