A diamond grading report is a scientific blueprint of your stones exact quantities. It gives an expert analysis on the 4Cs of diamonds, carat, colour, clarity, and cut and much more. It has a plotting diagram to identify inclusions and blemishes. Also, it identifies whether the diamond is synthetic or natural. So diamonds can have an identity card for all times.
Certification gives a diamond/jewellery, standardization. It gives value to your asset. Certifying diamond has become very easy. One should get their diamonds or jewellery certified from well established grading lab only. There are Grading Labs offices in most metro cities. Anyone can directly approach the Lab and get the diamond certified or they can get it done through their known jeweler. The rates of certification are standard and varies according to the weight of the diamonds.
It is advised to be aware and understand how to see the color and clarity of the diamond and at least measure and weigh your diamond before giving for certification and do the same when receiving back.
GIA
The Gemological institute of America or GIA Laboratory provides a variety of gem grading and identification reports. It contains a full scientific and unbiased assessment of your diamond’s 4Cs. GIA tests every diamond submitted to establish its authenticity as a diamond. GIA reports provide a full description of the diamond, including carat, cut, color, fluorescence and discloses any known treatments.
GIA has 16 locations in 11 countries, out of which 2 locations are in India. It gives us an assurance of the awareness of buying and selling of diamonds with the certificate in the Indian subcontinent.
IGI
IGI is another world’s trusted institute for expert and impartial certification of the diamond. IGI Diamond’s Report gives an accurate assessment of a diamond’s cut, clarity and carat weight according to strict international standard. A certificate of this kind has all the possible detail about the diamond that can help identify it from the rest. IGI institute has its head office in Mumbai, India.
HRD
An HRD laboratory is based in Antwerp and this also represents the hallmark of authentic European standards for certification and allows the consumer to purchase diamonds or jewellery with full confidence.
